Princess Catherine's life took a dramatic turn when she met Prince William at university.
The couple fell in love and went on to marry in 2011 before welcoming their three children together, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
First a Duchess, Catherine is now a Princess and the future Queen, undertaking hundreds of royal engagements and supporting countless charities.
It's a full-time job - but not the one she initially had in mind.

The royal revealed all when she paid a visit to her old school, St. Andrew's School in Pangbourne, Berkshire.
She was there to open a new hockey pitch - and tested out the surface herself - before giving a speech in which she described the nine years she spent there as the "happiest years of my life".
Catherine's dream job revealed
She said: "It is such a treat to be back here at St Andrew's. I absolutely loved my time here; they were some of my happiest years, which makes it so incredibly special to be here today.
"In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when I had to leave, I told my mother that I was going to come back to be a teacher. While that didn’t quite happen, I was thrilled to have been asked back today on St. Andrew's Day.

The Princess continued: "It was while I was here at school that I realised my love of sport. Sport has been a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities I had to get outside and play in such wonderful open spaces - though sadly there was nothing quite as glamorous as this in my time!
"I hope that you all enjoy playing sport here as much as I used to, and make the most of these incredible facilities."

He described her as a "sporty" pupil, telling the BBC: "She held our record for the high jump... for about 20 years she's had that. She was very hard working, very polite and friendly, [and] very kind to the younger children."
Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte take the tube
She might be royal but Princess Catherine remains incredibly down to earth.

Catherine, 44, and her 11-year-old daughter were spotted by a fellow commuter as they travelled on the tube, with a source telling HELLO! that Charlotte looked almost "amazed" as she looked around the carriage.
The pair were seen seated on TfL's newest tube line – opened during the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee year – with their security detail, and surrounded by other members of the public.
A source told us: "They spoke to members of the public sitting across from them. They had security with them and Catherine held Charlotte's hand getting off at Tottenham Court Road. The security didn't make it obvious they were there and they tried to make it as 'normal' as possible.

"Catherine had her phone with her and was looking at her phone for a couple of minutes. They seemed very relaxed and were chatting together, smiling. It was a brief interaction with people opposite them but they seemed very happy."
Catherine looked to be wearing a burgundy outfit and matching heels for their outing, with the pair disembarking at Tottenham Court Road.
It's not known where they were travelling to, but the mother-daughter duo has previously enjoyed several trips to the ballet together, including a performance by The Royal Ballet School at Opera Holland Park in July.
While the Princess of Wales was a regular on the tube in her pre-royal days, it marked a rare appearance for Princess Charlotte, who is in Year 8 at Lambrook Preparatory School in Berkshire. Typically, the royals are chaperoned in motorcades or utilise their private helicopters.
