There is no longer any aspect of human life in which artificial intelligence is not involved, even in the most frivolous matters such as beauty pageants. The seventh edition of what has been called Miss AI Universe is about to take place, and Colombia has a candidate.
Her name is Marya Tiglao Pulgarin, created with artificial intelligence, and she will face other virtual representatives from 71 countries who, according to the pageant’s organizers, are evaluated on their design, cultural identity, and social causes.
Each participant has an appearance (always perfect), a story, and a social cause that are part of her presentation to the public and the organization. In the case of the Colombian candidate, she is presented as an environmental activist, television host, actress, and accountant.
Colombian candidate says she assumes responsibility toward society
Her proposal focuses on protecting ecosystems and supporting people who work to defend the environment.
In one of Marya Tiglao Pulgarin’s messages, she states that representing a country does not consist solely of wearing a crown, but also of assuming a responsibility toward society and the planet.
The organizers of the “beauty” pageant had initially announced the participation of 69 countries, but later updated the figure to 71, including Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, the United States, Venezuela, the Philippines, and South Africa.
The pageant’s format is simple: it includes an initial selection of 25 candidates, followed by a selection of 12 and then six finalists, until reaching the grand final.
The evaluation of the participants goes beyond their appearance. It also takes into account originality, visual design, the coherence of each character’s identity, cultural representation, and their ability to connect with the public on digital platforms.
The organization claims that these types of events celebrate “creativity, innovation, digital beauty, and the future of artificial intelligence through a unique competition that brings together exceptional AI-generated contestants.”
Miss AI Universe presents its arguments
The winner of the current edition will receive the crown from Anya Belmara, the representative of Guadeloupe and winner of Miss AI Universe 2026. She earned the prestigious title in January 2026 during the grand final held in the Seychelles, becoming the official ambassador of this initiative that brings together digital beauty, creativity, and technology.
The pageant’s organizers say that Anya, like the others, was created using artificial intelligence and embodies a modern vision of elegance and innovation. “Her identity celebrates the cultural richness of the Caribbean, the beauty of the islands, and the power of new technologies to inspire imagination, art, and global communication,” they say.
For the pageant, Anya “represents the fundamental values of the competition: diversity, creativity, digital excellence, and commitment to positive causes around the world.”
Furthermore, they consider her “coronation” an “important milestone in the history of Miss AI Universe, an international competition that celebrates virtual models, creative talent, and the future of digital representation.”
Effort to dress it up in terms of values
Regarding the competition itself, the organization considers it “revolutionary” because it “redefines beauty by merging artificial intelligence, digital creativity, and global cultural diversity.” For them, “more than a simple competition, it is a visionary platform that highlights how technology can be used to inspire, connect, and generate a meaningful impact on the world.”
They also consider it a “unique concept” in which all contestants are created entirely through advanced AI technologies. “Each candidate represents a country or region, embodying not only visual elegance but also a strong identity shaped through storytelling, innovation, and artistic design,” they explain.
They emphasize that “every detail, from appearance to personality, has been carefully designed to reflect both creativity and cultural richness, offering a new perspective on the meaning of beauty in the digital age.”
Regarding the pageant’s mission, which they describe as “powerful,” they say it consists of using technology “as a platform for global charitable causes.” According to the organization, each contestant “is also an ambassador for a humanitarian cause, bringing visibility to charitable initiatives and social challenges around the world.”
Finally, they believe that, through storytelling, digital campaigns, and creative content, “the competition highlights important causes such as education, environmental protection, health, and social equality.”
