KUALA LUMPUR: Pantech Global Bhd's net profit soared 89.5 per cent to RM19.33 million in the second quarter ended Aug 31, 2026 (Q2 FY27), from RM10.2 million a year earlier.
The steel pipe and fittings manufacturer said this was supported by higher selling prices, a more favourable product mix and improved operating leverage, which helped offset the impact of tariffs and rising raw material and energy costs.
Pantech's quarterly revenue increased 36.9 per cent to RM173.71 million from RM126.9 million a year earlier, driven by higher sales volume and improved average selling prices.
Its earnings per share rose to 2.27 sen from 1.20 sen a year earlier.
For the first half of FY27, Pantech's net profit increased 60.6 per cent to RM35.69 million from RM22.23 million a year earlier, while revenue rose 32 per cent to RM333.39 million from RM252.53 million.
The company annpunced a first interim single-tier dividend of 2.2 sen per share for FY27, payable on Dec 16 this year.
Pantech group managing director Adrian Tan said its first half performance reflected the resilience of the business and its continued focus on balancing sales growth with profitability.
"Higher sales volumes and improved average selling prices, together with a more favourable product mix and greater operating efficiency, supported stronger earnings despite the ongoing pressures from rising input costs," he said in a statement.
Tan said the company remains focused on sustaining its business momentum in the second half of FY27.
"We expect performance in the second half to be stronger than in the first half, supported by resilient demand across our key end-user industries and continued attention to pricing discipline, cost management and operational efficiency.
"At the same time, we remain mindful of uncertainties surrounding geopolitical developments, trade policies and raw material prices, which could affect market demand and margins," he said.
