YEREVAN: ZANZIBAR President, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has proposed that Tanzania and Armenia collaborate in establishing a technology training centre in Tanzania to equip young people with modern skills and promote innovation.
Dr Mwinyi made the proposal on October 15, 2026, during talks with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan at the Presidential Palace in Yerevan. He is in Armenia representing the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, at the World Leaders’ Summit on Biodiversity (COP17).
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in education, technology, tourism and diplomatic relations, including student exchanges and the establishment of a technology training centre drawing on Armenia’s experience.
