An official of the National Election Commission who had been under investigation by the special counsel team led by Lee Tae-han was found dead.
According to police, the man, identified only as A, an NEC official in his 40s, was found dead at about 7:06 a.m. on the 21st in the garden of an apartment complex in Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong.
Police believe A jumped from the apartment building where he lived.
A had been questioned by the special counsel team until recently, and a note he left is said to have expressed a sense of being wronged during the investigation. Police are investigating the circumstances in detail.
