Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is ready to meet all political parties to discuss terrorism, Senator Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday. The prime minister’s adviser on political affairs invited political leaders to work together against growing security challenges. He made the remarks during a Senate session on October 20. Sanaullah said political cooperation could help address the country’s terrorism problem. He urged all parties to join discussions with the prime minister and consider the issue collectively.
Sanaullah said the prime minister remained willing to hold talks with political leaders. He asked opposition parties to set aside differences and participate in consultations. According to him, the government wants political stakeholders to discuss ways to address terrorism. He stressed that the invitation remained open to all political parties.

The adviser also discussed differences between federal and provincial authorities over security cooperation. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had not provided the cooperation needed during earlier terrorism-related challenges. In contrast, he described the Balochistan government’s coordination with federal authorities as complete. His comments highlighted differing levels of cooperation between provincial administrations and the centre.
Sanaullah also raised concerns about opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s engagement with the government. He said Achakzai had formally assumed the opposition leader’s position with the National Assembly speaker’s signature. However, Sanaullah claimed Achakzai remained unwilling to visit the speaker’s chamber. He added that he had personally encouraged Achakzai to meet the prime minister and end the disagreement.
The adviser further criticised opposition representatives for not attending meetings of the Apex Committee. He said those meetings provided an opportunity for open discussions about national security. Pakistan continues to face terrorism-related challenges, he added. Sanaullah also referred to the recent martyrdom of an army major during security-related developments.

He accused some individuals involved in meetings with the PTI founder of promoting hostile narratives against state institutions. Sanaullah warned that authorities could restrict such meetings under applicable rules and laws. He also criticised attempts to secure the founder’s release through legal proceedings or intervention by US President Donald Trump. These remarks reflected continuing political tensions alongside the government’s call for cooperation.
Sanaullah reiterated that the prime minister remained available for discussions with every political party. However, he did not announce a specific meeting date or schedule. The government’s invitation now leaves political parties an opportunity to engage in talks. The proposed discussions would focus on terrorism and cooperation between political stakeholders.
