DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort marked the beginning of its festive preparations with a Christmas cake mixing ceremony held on the resort’s rooftop, bringing guests and Team Members together against the backdrop of southern Sri Lanka’s sunset.
Guests joined the resort’s team in mixing dried fruits, spices and traditional festive ingredients in preparation for the season’s Christmas cakes. The gathering offered an opportunity to participate in a cherished seasonal custom while enjoying the rooftop setting and sharing the occasion with fellow guests.
The deep south sunset added a distinctive backdrop to the ceremony, creating a memorable experience that combined festive tradition with the resort’s sense of place. Guest participation was central to the celebration, reflecting DoubleTree by Hilton’s focus on warm hospitality and moments of connection.
Traditionally held ahead of Christmas, cake mixing allows the ingredients to mature before baking, developing the flavours associated with festive cakes. For the resort’s culinary team, the ceremony marked an early milestone in preparations for the forthcoming season.
The occasion also highlighted the collaborative efforts of the resort’s Team Members in creating engaging guest experiences. By inviting guests to take part in its festive preparations, the resort extended the celebration beyond the kitchen and made them part of a shared seasonal tradition.
As the festive season approaches, DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort looks forward to welcoming guests to celebrate with family and friends, enjoy seasonal flavours and create lasting memories in southern Sri Lanka.
