Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is a different player in 2026.
In 2025, Williams finished the season ranked 32nd in the NFL with a completion percentage of 58.1 percent. This year, Williams ranks first in the NFL with a completion percentage of 72.5 percent.
On Sunday against the Falcons, Williams completed 30 of 36 passes, a completion percentage of 83.3 percent. That was the best mark of his career. Williams is throwing the ball more accurately than ever.
When Ben Johnson became the Bears’ head coach last year, one of his stated goals was for Williams to have a completion percentage of at least 70 percent. Even as the Bears and Williams improved significantly in Johnson’s first year, Williams’ completion percentage stayed low. But during training camp this season, Johnson sounded confident that Williams’ completion percentage was going to keep trending upward.
Johnson couldn’t have been more right about that. Williams is throwing the ball more accurately than any quarterback in the NFL.
