Fireman aspirants renew protest, demand immediate publication of recruitment results

Candidates awaiting recruitment to Fireman posts in the Fire Service Department once again submitted a deputation to the authorities, on Wednesday, demanding the immediate publication of results and completion of the recruitment process. They also warned of launching a larger agitation if their demands remain unaddressed.

The aspirants alleged that a recruitment notification for Fireman and Driver posts was issued in 2022, following which physical and written examinations were conducted. While the recruitment process for Driver posts has already been completed, the results for Fireman posts are yet to be declared.

Protesters claimed that nearly four years have passed since the examinations were held, but there has been no progress regarding the appointment of Fireman candidates. Expressing frustration over the prolonged delay, they urged the department to expedite the process and fill the vacant posts without further delay.

The job aspirants also appealed to Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to personally intervene in the matter and ensure that the pending recruitment process is completed at the earliest. They maintained that timely appointments are essential to address both the aspirations of successful candidates and the manpower requirements of the Fire Service Department.
