After slipping under the radar for a number of months, Coronation Street villain Ross Wilkes’s (Ian Burfield) true colours are beginning to show once again.
Following a misjudged comment about son Tyrone Dobbs's (Alan Halsall) historic domestic abuse at the hands of his ex-fiancée Kirsty, Ross now tries to rope him – and infant grandson Dorin Pop (Henry Meller) – into joining a boxing club.
When teenage granddaughters Hope and Ruby (Isabella Flanagan and Billie Naylor) show an interest in the sport, he struggles to mask his disdain. But will this be Ross’s downfall?
Meanwhile, at the courtroom, Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) anxiously awaits her verdict. Will she be found guilty, or not guilty?
Elsewhere, there's war between Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) over a patch of land that is due to be developed, and Debbie Webster's (Sue Devaney) declining cognitive ability causes issues at the Chariot Square Hotel – and for husband Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).
Plus, Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) is crushed when she receives her BRCA gene test results.
Here's everything happening in the episodes of Coronation Street airing between Monday 19 and Friday 23 October.
6 Coronation Street spoilers for next week
1. Sarah Platt - guilty, or not guilty?
Sarah sits through the barristers' closing speeches in court, growing increasingly nervous as the crucial moment approaches.
With the arguments finally concluded, tension mounts in the courtroom corridor when the usher announces that the jury has reached its verdict. But will the outcome be the one she is hoping for?
2. Nick Tilsley considers selling the Viaduct Bistro
Nick opens up to Sam about his plans to sell the business back to Leanne, explaining that he wants to put his energy into focusing on him instead. However, Sam is far from convinced that giving up the business is the right move. Pointing out that it provides his livelihood and is a place he genuinely loves, Sam urges Nick to reconsider his decision.
3. Idris Nazir plans to develop a patch of land that Daniel Osbourne wants to preserve
Idris approaches niece Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) with an intriguing proposition, revealing that he has his eye on a piece of council land and would like her to act as his solicitor in the potential purchase.
However, he may face some unexpected opposition when Daniel learns from dad Ken Barlow (William Roache) that, according to Mrs Crawshaw (Carla Mendonça), the council intends to sell the land to a wealthy developer.
Unwilling to let the opportunity slip away, Daniel resolves to stop the sale and ensure the space is put to better use for the local children. He later explains his plans to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), determined to find a way to challenge the council's decision.
Over a drink, he enthusiastically details to his uncle and Alya that he has rallied local parents behind his campaign and launched a petition to save the land. However, his determination could put him on a collision course with someone much closer to home when Alya confesses to Adam that the developer hoping to buy the site is none other than Idris.
Having already agreed to represent him, Alya finds herself caught between competing interests. With Daniel determined to protect the land for the children and Idris keen to secure the purchase, could the pair find themselves heading for a bitter battle?
4. Debbie Webster's memory worsens amid her dementia journey
Debbie hopes to enjoy a romantic evening with Ronnie, but her plans are knocked back when he reveals that Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) is taking him out for a belated birthday meal instead.
Later, Ronnie confides in his brother that although he is still attracted to Debbie, he is worried about how her dementia might affect their sex life. Ed encourages him to be honest with her about his concerns, but will Ronnie take his advice?
Debbie soon makes another attempt to get close to Ronnie, suggesting they head back to bed when she finds herself in the mood for romance. However, the moment takes an uncomfortable turn when she accidentally calls him Darren. Ronnie chooses not to correct her, instead pretending that he has a headache to avoid the situation.
Concerned about what happened, Debbie later confides in her 'angels', Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) and Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger). Abi struggles to keep her thoughts to herself, but will she decide that Debbie deserves to know the truth?
Later, Debbie's troubles at the hotel take an alarming turn when she gives a guided tour to Denise, a bride-to-be whose wedding is booked for July. However, when Denise reveals that she specifically requested 26th June, Debbie is horrified to discover that she has mixed up the dates.
With questions being raised about her ability to manage the bookings, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) suggests that Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) should take over responsibility for them. Debbie reluctantly agrees, but her personal problems are far from over.
As Carl and Ronnie chat in the hotel bar, she approaches her husband and gives him short shrift, unaware that Paula (Kelli Hollis), an ex-convict, is keeping a close eye on her.
Denise subsequently tells Ryan that she no longer wants Debbie involved in her wedding, branding her a liability. Matters get even worse when Paula confronts Debbie and threatens her. As Ryan shows Denise around the hotel, they stumble upon the pair arguing, prompting Denise to demand her deposit back before storming out.
When Denise's fiancé, Stan, arrives, Debbie attempts to smooth things over by explaining that Denise has missed her and offering him a glass of wine. However, the conversation soon becomes more personal when Debbie confides that her own husband no longer fancies her.

5. Fiz Dobbs is suspicious of father-in-law Ross Wilkes
Ross pays a visit to the garage, proudly showing Tyrone the boxing gloves he has bought for Dorin. He explains that the gift is intended to give him an opportunity to bond with his grandson, but his enthusiasm soon becomes a source of frustration when he insists that both Dorin and Tyrone have a go at boxing. Neither of them are particularly keen on the idea.
Later, Fiz and Tyrone explain to Ross that the girls have also tried boxing and that Ruby is interested in taking it up more seriously. Ross is less than impressed by the suggestion, but his granddaughter is keen to pursue her new interest and asks Tyrone for permission.
Ty' initially refuses, insisting that boxing is not for girls and worrying that Ruby could get hurt. However, Hope challenges his attitude, pointing out that he is being sexist. Faced with her argument, Tyrone eventually changes his mind and agrees to let Ruby give it a go. But what will Ross make of the decision?
His interference soon causes further problems when Tyrone receives a text from Fiz asking him to pick up some popcorn for their family film night. Rather than letting him get on with it, Ross tells his son to ignore the message, pockets his phone and pressures him into having yet another pint.
Tyrone eventually returns home drunk, leaving Fiz annoyed and sending him straight to bed. When he explains that Ross confiscated his phone, Fiz is furious and decides to confront him directly.
