Etot Eng'ori Abulero, who currently lives in the Mtego area of Lenana in Nairobi, told Turkana County News Online that he departed Kakuma, Turkana West Sub-County, sometime between 1987 and 1989.
Poverty and persistent food shortages had made life at home untenable, and he felt he had no choice but to move on.
Where did Etor go after leaving Turkana?
When he left, Eng'ori had a wife named Lochii and two young children, Jacob Etot and Ajikon. The couple's relationship had reportedly frayed under the pressure of hardship before his departure.

His wife and children are believed to be in their early 40s today and are thought to be living in Todonyang, Turkana North Sub-County.
His journey took him first to Kitale, then across the border to Mogadishu in Somalia, where he found employment. He returned to Kenya in 1997 and settled in Kisumu before eventually making his way to Nairobi.
He now works as a security officer along Ngong-Karen Road near Lenana Boys High School, earning enough to sustain himself but carrying the weight of years spent apart from his loved ones.
Now in the final chapter of his life, Eng'ori is determined to bridge the decades-long gap between himself and his relatives. He has named his father as Engori Abulero and his mother as Apua.
His brother, Robur Engori, reportedly served as an Administration Police officer, and he also mentioned a relative named Ekomwa Ekadeli and a sister called Loich.
He is appealing to members of the public, particularly those with connections to Todonyang, Kakuma or the broader Turkana community, to come forward if any of these names sound familiar.
Anyone with information that could help reunite Eng'ori with his family can reach him directly on 0796507431.
