Last year, a San Francisco-based AI start-up called Delphi embarked on a project: building an artificial intelligence version of me, called Arthur AI.
Delphi, which constructs interactive “digital minds,” or personalized AI clones of real people, created the chatbot using 2.5 million of my own words, taken from books, columns, speeches, and podcasts about the science of happiness. The model is continually updated as these columns and my podcast are published weekly. It is currently being used by thousands of people, who get three messages a month for free, and can upgrade for unlimited use.
You may ask: Why did we do this?
