Update (10/11/26): Will Campbell expected to ‘miss some time’ after suffering knee injury vs. Raiders
The blows keep coming for the New England Patriots offensive line. Starting left tackle Will Campbell, who exited Sunday’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders with a knee injury in the second quarter, is expected to “miss some time.”
According to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the sophomore is believed to have suffered a knee sprain. He will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the initial diagnosis and determine the severity of the sprain.
With Campbell out, first-round rookie Caleb Lomu is slated to remain as the starting left tackle. Lomu played a career-high 47 snaps in place of Campbell versus Las Vegas.
Update (10/11/26): Patriots OT Will Campbell ruled out of Raiders game after suffering knee injury
The Patriots have downgraded Will Campbell (knee) to out for the remainder of Sunday.
Following the second quarter injury, Campbell did return from the locker room to the sideline. He put on his helmet and went though tests on the sideline before riding the stationary bike.
Campbell then did not return to the sideline with the team following halftime and was eventually ruled out. Rookie Caleb Lomu worked in his place at left tackle.
Original story (10/11/26): Patriots OT Will Campbell suffers knee injury vs. Raiders, questionable to return
New England Patriots left tackle Will Campbell left Sunday’s game with a right knee injury. He is questionable to return.
The injury occurred on a second quarter run play where Rhamondre Stevenson was brought down on Campbell’s right leg. He stayed on the turf acquiring medical attention before visiting the blue medical tent and quickly departing to the locker room.
Last season, Campbell suffered a MCL sprain to the same right knee that landed him on injured reserve. He returned for the playoffs but struggled as he was not fully healthy.
With Campbell in the locker room on Sunday, rookie Caleb Lomu filled in at left tackle. The Patriots traded up to select Lomu 28th overall in the draft this past April. Through four weeks, Lomu had played just 50 offensive snaps as the third offensive tackle and jumbo tight end.
