The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) will host the "Bangladesh Apparel Roadshow" in Hong Kong on 28 October 2026.
Organised in collaboration with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Hong Kong, the event will take place at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, according to the press release.
Md Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh, and Mahmud Hasan Khan, president of BGMEA, will co-host the event.
The roadshow will bring together global buyers, sourcing partners and industry stakeholders to showcase Bangladesh's evolving apparel manufacturing capabilities, including product diversification, technical apparel, innovation and sustainable manufacturing.
As one of the world's leading apparel-exporting countries, Bangladesh continues to strengthen its position in the global value chain. Against a backdrop of changing sourcing strategies and market dynamics, the roadshow will highlight the sector's expanding capabilities and explore opportunities for deeper international trade and collaboration.
The programme will feature presentations on Bangladesh's apparel capabilities, discussions on the global retail outlook and emerging sourcing trends, and a panel discussion. An apparel showcase will highlight innovation and technical apparel.
Senior officials from HSBC's Hong Kong team, including Oliver T Jones, head of global network banking, Hong Kong, will participate in the discussions.
The event will facilitate engagement between international buyers and industry stakeholders, supporting dialogue on emerging opportunities and the changing requirements of global apparel supply chains.
HSBC said its international network, global trade expertise and longstanding presence in Bangladesh support businesses in navigating international markets and pursuing cross-border growth opportunities.
The roadshow reflects the bank's commitment to facilitating international business connections and supporting Bangladesh's participation in global trade.
BGMEA, the apex trade body representing Bangladesh's apparel manufacturers and exporters, brings industry expertise and representation to the initiative.
The collaboration also highlights the importance of stronger international engagement in supporting the apparel sector's diversification, competitiveness and long-term growth.
