INCHEON — Midsize and small companies in Incheon have teamed up with public agencies to pursue 1.3 billion won ($900,000) in public procurement sales.
The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry said on the 19th that it recently held the 2026 Incheon Public Purchasing Consultation Fair. The event, organized jointly with the Incheon Metropolitan Government at Songdo Convensia, was designed to help local companies break into the procurement market.
Thirteen local public agencies took part, including Incheon Transit Corp., Incheon Urban Development Corp., the city's Construction Management Headquarters and the Geomdan, Jemulpo and Yeongjong district offices, along with 50 Incheon companies. A total of 124 one-on-one purchasing consultations were held, with the combined value of the talks reaching 1.3 billion won.
Rather than letting suppliers simply pitch their products, the fair used a buyer-driven matching format in which each public agency selected the companies it wanted to meet based on its own purchasing needs. Companies held 25-minute focused sessions at booths set up for each agency, followed by additional on-site consultations to make the meetings more productive.
The Incheon Regional Public Procurement Service also ran a policy consultation booth at the venue, and a practical briefing covering government bidding rules, listing on the Public Procurement Service online mall and multiple award schedule (MAS) contracts drew 68 officials from 54 companies.
The chamber said it will continue to offer public procurement consulting, tailored bidding information and support for credit evaluation costs, while stepping up follow-up management so the consultations lead to actual public contracts and deliveries.
"We precisely connected the purchasing needs of public agencies with the technological capabilities of local companies in advance," an official at the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry said. "We will keep providing support so that the results of these consultations lead to actual contracts."
