Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski drops brutally honest admission on his Game 1 start appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Milwaukee Brewers possessed a top-notch bullpen in the regular season and in the last two rounds of the playoffs, but the idea of this team winning a championship without Jacob Misiorowski posting his best stuff seemed near-incomprehensible. The presumptive National League Cy Young was unable to reach the sixth inning for a third straight postseason start, and yet, the Brew Crew are now just three wins away from capturing their first World Series title in franchise history.
Misiorowski pitched five innings of one-run ball in Friday’s 3-2 Game 1 victory versus the Tampa Bay Rays, allowing four hits while recording three strikeouts and one walk. He perfectly described his fairly short yet triumphant outing.
“Not perfect, good enough to get a win,” the genial 24-year-old right-hander said, via Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints.

Misiorowski has not been operating as a work horse for some time. He has accumulated only a combined 13 1/3 innings of work across three playoff outings. The three Ks are also surprisingly low. This record-breaking flamethrower is nearing the end of his first full MLB campaign, and he is showing the effects of unleashing elite velocity all yearlong.
Like Misiorowski said, though, he had enough on this night. The Brewers’ bullpen also provided first-class reinforcements, once again. Aaron Ashby remains unstoppable, Abner Uribe enjoyed a stellar showing in his own right and Trevor Megill survived despite allowing one run in the ninth. The lineup notched timely hits, as it does, and All-Star catcher William Contreras threw out potential game-tying runs multiple times.
Jacob Misiorowski did not carry the squad to a 1-0 series lead in American Family Field. Pat Murphy has not asked him to fill that role during this postseason. Milwaukee secured the W by putting forth a complete effort. This ballclub may not have many household names, but it should be obvious by now that one player does not define Brewers baseball.
If Milwaukee has its way, Misiorowski will not have to put the team on his back again for the rest of 2026. Game 2 is Saturday at approximately 8 p.m. ET.
