A total of 16 hopefuls have advanced to the weekly finals of this year's edition of "Idol." The top eight competed against each other in four duels. The remaining eight will compete next Saturday.
Only the winners of the duels advance directly, with one more contestant per episode chosen by the viewers.
In Saturday night's episode, My Persson and Elliot Baglivi were left hanging after Vilhelm Nordvall, Ella Magnusson, Darya Turial and Saga Uvemark won their duels.
Laban Berglin was the first to be voted through by the viewers.
"It's unhealthy for your heart to beat this fast. I'm incredibly grateful," he said immediately after the announcement.
Then it was time for the "jury's wild card," which saved another contestant from elimination, and the choice fell on Theo Han Jönsson.
"I'm so sorry for My and Elliot," he said.
Jury member Katia Mosally said on the broadcast that they saw potential in Theo Han Jönsson and therefore chose to give him the last place - even though she had criticized him for being "too much cabaret" on stage.
