"Last Friday, we found seven bodies after the bandits attacked our community. The next day, Saturday, we discovered another 43 bodies in the river, bringing the total to 50," Bashir Mamuda Musa, a resident of Binnari town in Taraba state, told AFP.
The unknown perpetrators arrived in the town on motorcycles. They killed people, looted shops and set houses on fire, according to the police.
The town is located in the violence-ridden eastern part of the country, where ethnic conflicts are ongoing.
