A Canadian delegation led by Secretary of State Randeep Sarai visited the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in Cox’s Bazar to explore how agricultural research and innovation can help farmers increase productivity, strengthen food security and adapt to climate change.

The High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh shared the information in a Facebook post on Thursday.
During the visit, the delegation explored how agricultural research and innovative solutions can help Bangladeshi farmers improve productivity and respond to climate challenges.

Bioenterprise Canada, a Canadian agricultural innovation accelerator, will partner with CIMMYT to promote the adoption of agricultural innovations suited to local needs in Bangladesh.
The partnership will combine Canadian and Bangladeshi expertise to strengthen food security and create new economic opportunities for farming communities.
