Mosiria released a lengthy statement following his firing by Sakaja, in which he claimed the effective end of his career at the county government came on December 28, 2023, when the governor summoned him to his private office in Riverside and stripped him of his mandate as an accounting officer, handing those responsibilities to junior officers through what Mosiria described as an unprocedural memo.

Budget cuts and procurement pressure
According to Mosiria, the governor subsequently reduced the health docket's budget from KSh 1.2 billion to KSh 100 million, a move he said was intended to render him operationally ineffective.
He alleged the financial squeeze came after he declined to facilitate direct procurement deals that benefited individuals close to Sakaja and his contractors.
"You went ahead and reduced my dockets health budget from 1.2B to 100M so that I couldn't have a budget to work — reasons being I refused to be used to do direct procurement favoring people around you and your contractors," Mosiria wrote, adding that evidence exists from a WhatsApp conference call involving Sakaja's chief of staff, Osman Khalifa, during which he was confronted over his refusal.
Mosiria said he was later transferred to the Environment docket, where his director reported directly to the governor, leaving him with no substantive role.
Rather than remain idle, he said he chose to personally lead street operations normally handled by junior officers because he still wished to serve Nairobi residents.
Contempt Case and Transfer to Customer Service
He further alleged that a contempt of court case, which he said nearly resulted in a six-month jail sentence, was deliberately engineered to remove him from office.
Following that episode, he was transferred to the customer service and public participation docket, where he remained until his formal dismissal.
Throughout this period, Mosiria said he endured attacks on official WhatsApp groups, public criticism, and calls for his resignation from bloggers, all while attempting to seek dialogue with Sakaja, who he claimed rarely answered calls or replied to messages.
In a pointed warning, Mosiria said he had received information that Sakaja was preparing another court case against him.
"I hope Nairobi people know who belongs to jail and who should serve them," he wrote.
Mosiria closed his statement by declaring his intention to contest the Nairobi governorship, saying residents had been calling on him to serve in that capacity. He shared supporting documents alongside the statement to back his allegations against the governor.
