MWANZA: Mwanza Regional Commissioner Salum Hamduni has urged public servants to expedite responses to investors’ needs and provide clear guidance on legal procedures and required permits before projects commence, in a move aimed at preventing delays and financial losses.
Hamduni made the remarks while visiting a fish feed production, fish fingerling production and cage fish farming project being implemented by The Big Best Company Limited in Lutale Ward, Magu District Council, Mwanza Region.
He said some officials and professionals involved in the project, including the company’s legal officer, an officer from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, and an official from TAFIL, had failed to provide the investor with proper guidance on the procedures required to implement the project.

Hamduni noted that the investment aligns with the objectives of Tanzania’s National Development Vision 2050, particularly efforts to promote economic growth through private sector participation and expand domestic industrial production.
He commended The Big Best Company Limited for undertaking the project, which aims to produce 8,000 tonnes of fish feed, improve access to affordable and readily available feed for fish farmers, and create employment opportunities for more than 1,000 people upon completion.
