By Zoila Palma: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has announced new seasonal air service connecting Frankfurt, Germany, to Belize City, beginning December 16, 2027. The service, operated by Discover Airlines, is expected to establish a new gateway for travelers from Germany and other connecting European markets.
Flights will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, through mid-April 2028. The schedule coincides with Belize’s dry season, providing European visitors with an opportunity to explore the country during the winter travel months.
Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler, said the new service is strategically important to diversifying Belize’s tourism source markets and expanding international air connectivity.
He noted that strengthening Belize’s presence in Europe could attract more visitors from Germany and surrounding markets, allowing travelers to experience the Belize Barrier Reef, islands, rainforests, ancient Maya sites and cultural heritage.
Discover Airlines is the Lufthansa Group’s leisure airline in Germany, operating flights from Frankfurt and Munich to holiday destinations worldwide.
The airline offers connections through Lufthansa Group hubs and partner airlines, providing travelers with additional options for reaching Belize.
The BTB said it looks forward to working with Discover Airlines and tourism industry partners to strengthen Belize’s presence in the European market, improve connectivity and increase visitor arrivals from the region.
