Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi insists the Bianconeri must sign a new centre-forward in the January transfer window as Nick Woltemade ‘is not’ the ideal strike partner for Randal Kolo Muani.
Woltemade joined Juventus on loan from Newcastle less than two months ago, but former Bianconeri star Tacchinardi feels the Serie A giants already need a replacement for the German forward.
Juventus were held to a 1-1 away draw at Cagliari on Sunday, but managed to level in the second half with a goal from Kolo Muani.
Tacchinardi: Woltemade is not what Juventus need
“They’ve dropped two points despite creating many chances and dominating possession,” Tacchinardi told Sportmediaset.
“It feels like they still aren’t ready to take the next step. I think this match leaves two things. First, Zhegrova must play, because he was far more efficient than Conceiçao; second, Kolo Muani struggles when left alone in attack.”

Woltemade was introduced in the second half and helped Juventus increase the pressure on the Cagliari defence by filling the box alongside other attacking players, but was never really dangerous in front of the goal.
Tacchinardi feels the German striker isn’t the answer to Juventus’ attacking problems.
“Kolo Muani needs another striker close to him who, to me, isn’t Woltemade, who isn’t a classic centre-forward,” said the ex-Italian midfielder.

“So, in January, Juventus must go to market and sign a centre-forward because Kolo Muani needs someone close to him.”
Woltemade has started only one game for Juventus this season, scoring a penalty against NEC in the Europa League.
He’s on loan at the Allianz Stadium from Newcastle, and the Bianconeri do not have an option to make his move permanent.
