Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tacha Akide has called on the reality show’s organisers to take a break and re-strategise to make it more appealing to viewers.
The reality star cum social media influencer stated this during an interview on Arise TV, where she explained that the reality show needs to adapt to the changing entertainment landscape, particularly the growing influence of social media.
“I think they need to take a break, restrategise and just come up with something because we are really at an era where everything happens on social media,” she said.
“You don’t want us watching housemates in the house, meanwhile P-Square is giving us part seven of his family issues… we have come to a point where everyone is so comfortable with social media right now.”
Akide said the show’s popularity in its earlier seasons was partly shaped by a different social media landscape, adding that the organisers need to introduce more engaging concepts to keep viewers interested.
“At the time when the show was really hitting, it was different, and now it’s different. Social media wasn’t what it was then,” she said.
“They need to try to do something different which would be much more mind-blowing and more interesting to Nigerians because Nigerians are hard to please.”
