Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has won the Onze d’Or award for the best player of the 2025/26 season, following a vote by readers of French magazine Onze Mondial.
The Spanish club announced the award on Monday, October 19, saying Mbappé received 48.2 per cent of the votes to claim the honour for the first time in his career.
Paris Saint-Germain players João Neves and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia finished second and third, with 11.9 per cent and 10.8 per cent of the votes, respectively, according to Real Madrid.
In a statement published on its official website, the club said the French forward was the leading scorer in both the UEFA Champions League and La Liga during the 2025/26 season.
Real Madrid also noted Mbappé’s achievements at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he won the Golden Boot and became the tournament’s all-time leading scorer.
The award adds to the individual honours secured by the forward during a season in which he delivered goals for the Spanish club and France.
Mbappé’s latest recognition comes ahead of the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled for October 26 in London, where football’s leading individual honours will be presented.
PUNCH Online reports that the Onze d’Or is an annual football award established in 1976 by French magazine Onze, later renamed Onze Mondial.
The award is decided by votes from the magazine’s readers and recognises the best player, with the top three traditionally receiving the Onze d’Or, Onze d’Argent and Onze de Bronze awards.
Previous winners include Lionel Messi, who holds the record with five wins, Michel Platini, Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The accolade is separate from the Ballon d’Or, which is organised by France Football.
Mbappé’s victory places him among a list of prominent players recognised by the French publication.
Recent winners include Karim Benzema, Erling Haaland, Vinícius Júnior and Ousmane Dembélé.
According to Real Madrid, Mbappé won the 2025/26 edition with 48.2 per cent of the votes, ahead of João Neves, who received 11.9 per cent, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who polled 10.8 per cent.
