Kiarie made the announcement on Monday, October 12, via his X account, reaffirming a promise he had previously made to constituents. He will appear on the ballot as a candidate, with the campaign rallying under the "Gen Z Power" banner.
Kiarie's campaign promises
In his post, Kiarie described Roysambu as a cosmopolitan constituency with untapped potential across business, education, infrastructure, and healthcare.

He pledged to give the area "a voice we haven't had for so long" and to protect the ambitions of young Kenyans from what he termed "broken systems."
"There are plenty of opportunities for our youths here in Kenya more than anywhere else in the world and I shall stand to defend my fellow athletes without fear and above all when elected as Roysambu Constituency MP on August 10, 2027, I shall serve, I shall deliver, and I will protect the dreams of our hardworking youths and my fellow constituents from being shattered by broken systems," Kiarie wrote.
He also stressed that his representation would be inclusive, stating he had received support from Kenyans across the country and would serve all constituents without discrimination.
Athlete's grievances against sports federation
The political announcement comes at a time when Kiarie has been publicly vocal about frustrations he says he has faced as a competitive athlete representing Kenya on the global stage.
In a recent post, he accused a sports federation official of receiving KSh 380,000 on his behalf and failing to pass the funds to him.
"The federation is making dangerous claims, the same federation that received my money, KSh 380,000, and they have never given it to me. Why were you receiving me after the African Championship then? Is this how you avoid accountability?" Kiarie wrote, directing the remarks at Sports Cabinet secretary.
He added that despite the treatment he had received, he remained committed to defending the dignity of Kenyan athletes.
Kiarie's entry into electoral politics follows his profile as Africa's skate champion, a title that brought him continental recognition but, by his own account, limited institutional backing from government sports bodies.
