The footage, shared on Tuesday, October 13, spread rapidly across social media, with many Kenyans concluding that the popular MP and former radio presenter had treated himself to a flashy new ride.
Did Jalang'o buy a Maybach?
The Mercedes-Benz GLS 600 with a Maybach body kit is widely considered one of the most luxurious SUVs on the market, making the speculation all the more heated.
Rather than let the chatter run wild, Jalang'o stepped into the comments section himself to address it head-on.
He wrote: "Mimi ni magari nido nauza.... Si yangu. @drive_bk_" — essentially clarifying that he was simply dealing in cars and that the vehicle belonged to someone else.
The comment quickly gathered 850 likes, with followers finding the swift denial both amusing and refreshing.

Kenyans weigh in
The post drew a wave of entertaining responses from Kenyans who had plenty to say about the whole episode.
@hey.binium:
"Mbona hutuonyeshi ukishika 😄😆"
@jalangoo:
"Jalas akiulizwa anasemaje? 😂😂"
@adeel.tonit0:
"Uzuri 2027😂unarudi radio station"
@lunapalmjournals:
"I guess we will never know."
@__silla._:
"No need to deny we already know our government"
The recurring joke in the comments was a playful suggestion that if his political fortunes do not hold in 2027, Jalang'o could always return to his roots in radio broadcasting.
Jalang'o was first elected to represent Lang'ata Constituency in the 2022 general election, transitioning from a celebrated career as a radio host and entertainer into active politics.
Did Jalang'o squeeze into the boot of the presidential motorcade?
TUKO.co.ke also highlighted facts about Jalang’o’s explanation for entering the rear of a presidential security vehicle during President William Ruto’s Nyanza tour.
He said the vehicle had seats at the back and that his own transport had already left.
The footage drew online attention because Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi used the rear passenger door while Jalang’o climbed in through the back. J
alang’o rejected claims that he had squeezed into a standard boot.
