An exquisite afternoon tea experience where haute couture meets haute pâtisserie.
This October, The St. Regis Jakarta unveils The House of Astor Afternoon Tea, a fashion-inspired culinary experience that brings the glamour of Parisian couture to the table, infused with the enduring sophistication of the Astor legacy.
Available throughout October, the afternoon tea reimagines iconic elements of the fashion world as edible works of art, masterfully crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Lee. Drawing inspiration from the silhouettes, accessories and details seen on the runways of Paris, each creation is meticulously designed to blur the line between dessert and couture.
The collection includes a striking pistachio financier with orange blossom, elegantly shaped like a sophisticated emerald handbag; an artistic mango and coconut cheesecake inspired by the fluid movement of an upside-down couture skirt; a playful red velvet bar with vanilla cream transformed into a couture lipstick; and a delicate strawberry marmalade and lychee mousse delight that captures the graceful silhouette of a high-heeled shoe. Each piece embodies the craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail synonymous with both pastry artistry and luxury fashion.
“Fashion and pastry have a lot in common. Both are about creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. With The House of Astor Afternoon Tea, we wanted to create desserts that are beautiful to look at but also delicious to eat. Each piece is inspired by iconic fashion elements, bringing a little of the excitement and glamour of a Paris runway to the table,” said Chef Kevin.
The collection will make its debut at an exclusive launch event celebrating fashion and creativity. In collaboration with renowned Indonesian designer Sebastian Gunawan, The St. Regis Jakarta will host a special trunk show featuring selected couture pieces, transforming The Drawing Room into a sophisticated fashion salon.
Further highlighting Jakarta’s creative talent, the event is presented in partnership with Dinas Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Disparekraf), with members of Abang None Jakarta taking to the runway. Fashion personalities Elxi Elvina and Ayu Gani will appear as featured muses, bringing the latest fashion narratives to life in an intimate showcase of style and elegance.
Set against the refined surroundings of The Drawing Room, The House of Astor Afternoon Tea invites guests to enjoy a month-long celebration of fashion, craftsmanship and timeless St. Regis rituals. From couture-inspired pastries to elegant presentations, every detail pays homage to the spirit of the great fashion maisons, reimagined through the distinctive lens of The St. Regis Jakarta.
