ScotRail is warning travellers that trains are running at reduced speeds due to inspections on the line at Haymarket station.
The train operator announced that services into Edinburgh via Haymarket are running at reduced speeds due to a “safety inspection” on the line.
This is affecting early morning services on Tuesday, October 13, from Inverness, Perth, Aberdeen, Dundee and Glasgow.
The ScotRail website reads: “Because of a safety inspection of the track at Haymarket trains have to run at reduced speed on some lines towards Edinburgh.
“Disruption is expected to last until around 10am today (October 13).”
In addition, there are speed restrictions along the West Highland Line, due to heavy forecasted rain, with trains running at a reduced speed of 20 mph between Falls of Cruachen and Taynauilt on the Oban line and between Lochailort and Beasdale on the Fort William to Mallaig line.
The speed restrictions on the West Highland Line are expected to last until 10am.
