The dream home that late Maskandi star Scebi "Inkos'yamagcokama" Dlamini never got to finish is finally taking shape, with his fiancée sharing that the build is steadily moving towards completion.
Dlamini, who was just 29 years old, died in a car crash in Richards Bay in August while on his way to a music festival. He left behind not only a grieving family and a loyal fanbase, but also an ambitious double-storey house that he had named eHlalankosi — a project that was still far from finished at the time of his passing.
Maskandi community steps in
Fellow musicians and supporters, particularly those within the maskandi music community, have since stepped forward to help his fiancée, Mbali Mthembu, carry the build across the finish line. Thanks to financial contributions from well-wishers, significant progress has been made on the property. Windows and doors have been fitted, and electrical wiring work is underway.
Mbali took the opportunity to clear up a misconception that had been circulating online. She confirmed that the construction company working on the house was not donating its services — the firm was properly contracted and paid for its work using the funds that had been raised.

Mbali's heartfelt message
Speaking about what the home means to her, Mbali expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed.
"Most importantly, thank you to every individual who contributed financially towards the house. Your contributions are helping with something deeply important to my husband. Now the house will be a home to our children and me," she said.
The home, which Scebi envisioned as a legacy for his family, will now serve as a permanent residence for Mbali and their children; a living tribute to the artist who dreamed of building it.
