Sampyo Group, a construction materials maker, took part in the 32nd Samcheok Citizens' Day celebration.
The group said on the 15th that its subsidiary, Sampyo Cement (038500.KS), operated an event booth for residents at the Samcheok Citizens' Day celebration held on the 14th at Samcheok Sports Complex in Samcheok, Gangwon Province. The annual event is Samcheok's signature festival, drawing about 15,000 people, and this year's edition was held under the slogan "The Era of Samcheok Returns." The booth was set up to help host the event and to support the local community as a hometown company.
Sampyo Cement ran the booth under the slogan "One Samcheok, Sampyo Cement Walking Together to Connect Hearts," focusing on a supporting role to help residents enjoy the event. The booth offered a roulette wheel, prize draws and true-or-false quizzes. Participants received boxed tissues, tarpaulin bags and snack sets.
"As a hometown company, we are glad to communicate directly with local residents at a meaningful occasion like Samcheok Citizens' Day," Sampyo Cement Chief Executive Bae Dong-hwan said. "We will continue to support Samcheok's development and practice ESG management that builds trust and shared growth with the local community."
The celebration opened with a performance by the city choir, followed by a citizens' award ceremony, sports events for townships and neighborhoods, a residents' singing contest and performances by invited singers.
