By Zoila Palma: Minister of Economic Transformation Dr. Osmond Martinez has met with Oh Jin Young, Vice President of the AI Security Industry Group, during his official engagements in the Republic of Korea to explore opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and digital innovation.
The meeting focused on strengthening Belize’s digital infrastructure and leveraging emerging technologies to support national development.
Discussions included strengthening Belize’s cybersecurity framework, using AI to prevent cyberattacks and developing a Big Data Centre to support economic planning, healthcare and the delivery of public services.
The proposed initiatives are intended to improve Belize’s capacity to protect digital systems while using data and technology to enhance government operations and decision-making.
The Government of Belize, through the Ministry of E-Governance, has joined the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), further strengthening bilateral cooperation in cybersecurity and digital transformation.
