The Philippines ranked 67th out of 122 countries in the 2026 edition of the Global Hunger Index (GHI) by Welthungerhilfe, Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict, and Helvetas, with a score of 13.5 out of 100, classified as a “moderate” level of hunger. The country’s score was worse than the regional average of 8.1 but better than the global average of 18.1. The GHI combines four indicators that capture the multidimensional nature of hunger: undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting, and child mortality.
