The 2026/27 Gallagher Prem season is now in full swing, with all teams three matches deep. Gloucester head up the table on 12 points, while Harlequins and Newcastle Red Bulls remain winless at the bottom.
Here are the 2026/27 season statistics so far.
Top try scorers: Tommy Freeman and Christian Wade lead with five tries each, with the Northampton star scoring a hat-trick in their opening win against Newcastle, before adding a brace against Bath the following week. Wade secured his own hat-trick against Exeter Chiefs in round three after touching down twice in the season opener. Four players remain tied in third place: Louis Rees-Zammit, Ollie Sleightholme, Harry Randall and James Pater.
Top point scorers: Already, Fin Smith is holding his own at the top of the table with 37 points, closely followed by Scotland star Finn Russell on 34, and future England hopeful Billy Searle on 30. Last year’s top scorer Henry Slade sits down in sixth after struggling to find the target so far this season.
Most metres carried: While Exeter have stuttered in their start to the season, their all-star winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has done anything but, making 265 metres from just three games. Leicester Tigers’ Freddie Steward and Northampton Saints’ George Hendy follow on 257 and 249, respectively.
Most carries: Will Trenholm of Gloucester has been the busiest of attackers this season so far, making 42 carries for the Cherry and Whites. Only Saracens’ Ben Earl can join him with more than 40 carries, sitting behind him with 41, while teammate Seb Atkinson has taken the ball into contact from the midfield 39 times.
“This is where the power game starts to show”
Most line breaks: Perhaps not surprisingly, it’s the electric Wade and Hendy who have made the most line breaks so far, splitting the defence 11 times each, while Bristol Bears speedster Rees-Zammit sits in third place with nine after an impressive individual start to the season.
Most defenders beaten: This is where the power game starts to show. The incredibly strong and fast Chiefs winger Feyi-Waboso has proved to be the most destructive player in the league, with his 24 defenders beaten, being five more than his nearest rival, Sale Sharks’ Joe Carpenter, and eight more than Rees-Zammit on 16.
Most passes: Stephen Varney has continued his impressive form at Exeter Chiefs, becoming one of the Devon-based side’s most influential players. Most of the Chiefs’ attack comes from nine, and that’s shown in the stats, having shifted the ball a remarkable 237 times in the opening three matches. He is the only player to have passed the ball more than 200 times, with Jack van Poortvliet’s second place coming with 68 fewer passes.
Most tackles: It is tight at the top between Greg Fisilau and Olly Cracknell, with the Chiefs man slightly edging it after bringing down 52 opponents compared to Cracknell’s 51. Gloucester’s new signing Jac Morgan leads the chasing pack on 47.
Most turnovers won: Bristol Bears’ Fitz Harding is again proving that he’s one of the most effective players in the league, with a chart-topping six turnovers, while teammate Luka Ivanishvili, Tigers’ Tommy Reffell and Gloucester’s Morgan jointly occupy second place with five.
Most lineouts won: The battle of the hookers is currently being led by new Gloucester captain Dewi Lake, who has hit 36 darts on target, followed by Bears’ Gabriel Oghre on 31 and Tigers’ Sam Moli on 26.
