ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday launched the PM Youth Chromebook Scheme, under which 500,000 refurbished Chromebooks and internet devices will be distributed among students nationwide.
At a ceremony in Islamabad, the prime minister also handed over laptops and internet devices to outstanding Grade 9 students and students enrolled in seminaries.
Addressing the event, Shehbaz described students as Pakistan’s most valuable asset, emphasising the government’s commitment to empowering young people and improving their access to modern education.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had distributed 600,000 laptops over a decade in the past, while the new initiative aims to provide 500,000 Chromebooks within two years.
