The Halloween event in Steal an Egg brings a new dimension, limited-time pets, and a fishing rod that you can unlock after completing a simple quest. In this guide, learn how to get the fishing rod in Steal an Egg.
Before you can unlock the fishing rod in Steal an Egg, you must complete a small quest from the dog named Echo. He is located in the Graveyard biome of the Corrupted Realm.
Enter the Halloween Dimension
To get to the event zone, you need to enter the Rift located in the safe zone. You can find it near the Steal an Egg Trails Shop. Just walk through it, and you will enter the Corrupted Realm.
Once you are here, head straight until you reach the Haunted Swamp Biome. Turn left to find Gilbert’s Hut. Near the hut, you will see a Ghost Fisherman standing and fishing. Press E to interact with him. He will tell you that his ghost pup, Echo, is missing.
Find Echo the Ghost Pup
Now head back to Corrupted Realm’s spawn and turn left towards the Graveyard biome, and you will find a blue-glowing dog standing near three small pet houses beside a cauldron. This is the dog we are looking for. Talk to Echo, and it will ask you to find four items to complete its memory.
Find All Four of Echo’s Lost Items
There are four items that you need to find in order to complete Echo’s memory. These items are spread across different Steal an Egg biomes and are hidden in plain sight.
- Mr. Squeaky the Teddy: From the spawn point, head left towards the Graveyard. Look for a pumpkin-shaped house and pick up Mr. Squeaky the Teddy nearby by holding E.
- Old Collar: Return to the spawn point and head right towards the Phantom Express station. Here you will find a red-colored collar lying on the ground next to the tracks. Hold E to pick it up.
- Chewed Bone: From the spawn, head straight towards the Haunted Swamp. Follow the waters, and you will find the Chewed Bone on the side. Hold E to collect it.
- Old Photograph: Head straight from the spawn towards the Abandoned Manor. Walk up to the gate and look for two pumpkins on the left. Go around them and collect the Old Photograph from behind.
Once you have collected all four items, return to Echo in the Graveyard and talk to the ghost pup. He will take you to the Ghost Fisherman, where you need to interact with him and get your reward, the Haunted Rod.
How to Use the Fishing Rod in Steal an Egg
Once you have the Haunted Rod, head to the swamp and start fishing. You can earn Candy Corn and reel in rare eggs in Steal an Egg that you can hatch to unlock Halloween-exclusive pets.
