PETALING JAYA: A marital dispute is believed to have led to the death of Norhazwani Ibrahim, the civil servant allegedly murdered by her husband at the KLIA quarters last night.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said preliminary investigations found that the 35-year-old Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) officer had been stabbed.
He said Nilai police received a report at 9.30pm that a local man had surrendered at the Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi police station in Sepang, Selangor, and informed police of his wife’s death at a residence in a public housing complex in Nilai.
"A police team was sent to the location, where they found an unconscious woman in her 30s. A medical team from the Nilai health clinic later confirmed her death," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian today.
Alzafny said police seized the suspected murder weapon and several other items to assist investigations. The suspect was remanded until Oct 22 for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Alzafny said Norhazwani, previously reported to be a customs officer, had been transferred to AKPS effective July 1.
