Affirm announced an exclusive, multi-year collaboration on Thursday to provide buy now, pay later financing at Walmart $WMT's Sam's Club.
Affirm will be available on SamsClub.com in the coming weeks, and the company plans to expand to Sam's Club locations in 2027, the company said. Financial terms were not disclosed, according to Bloomberg.
At checkout, shoppers will complete a real-time eligibility check for the specific purchase, the company said. Approved shoppers can choose a monthly plan and see each payment and the date the plan ends before they commit. Payment options are subject to an eligibility check on eligible purchases of $500 or more, and a down payment may be required.
"When people pay over time with Affirm, they know what they'll owe and choose a plan that fits their lives," Wayne Pommen, Affirm's chief revenue officer, said in a statement, according to Bloomberg.
Affirm said it does not charge late fees and that interest does not compound.
Last year, Walmart's OnePay chose Klarna Group as its preferred installment-loan provider, according to Bloomberg.
Affirm reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue growth of 33% in August, with revenue reaching $1.17 billion in the three months ended June 30. Gross merchandise volume, the total dollar value of transactions processed on Affirm's platform, climbed 36% to $14.1 billion.
