BUCHANAN, Liberia, October 14, 2026 — ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) has certified 22 employees following a Train-the-Facilitator programme in Buchanan, aimed at strengthening internal leadership training across its mining and logistics operations.
The initiative equips employees to independently conduct AML’s Shopfloor Programme, which focuses on improving supervisory skills, workplace safety, team management and operational performance.
The training covers two key frameworks: the 3D Shopfloor Enhancement Programme, emphasizing Driving Results, Developing People and Doing Things Right, and the 4D Shopfloor Management Programme, which adds Delivering Value for supervisors with broader management responsibilities.
The programme initially brought together 13 Human Resources employees, followed by nine additional staff members selected for their performance in previous training sessions.
According to AML, the certification builds on a training initiative launched in September 2025. Between November 2025 and September 2026, the company conducted 13 training sessions in Yekepa and Buchanan, reaching more than 400 employees in partnership with Kenya-based Lantern Training.
The company says the programme has contributed to improvements in workplace communication, daily planning, conflict resolution and safety leadership.
To ensure continuity, AML has developed a Train-the-Facilitator Guide containing instructional materials, practical exercises and training guidelines to help certified employees deliver consistent sessions across its operations.
The company expects the initiative to reduce reliance on external trainers while empowering Liberian employees to share leadership and management skills with colleagues.
AML says the programme forms part of its broader workforce development strategy, designed to strengthen frontline supervision, improve productivity and promote a sustainable leadership culture across its Liberian operations.
