The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says its global crackdown on scam centre fraud under Operation Blackout is recording significant results in Ghana, with roughly $17 billion seized and thousands of trafficked workers freed.
FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed this in a post on X, stating that the operation had also led to the arrest of hundreds of alleged scammers.
According to Patel, the operation has so far helped warn more than 10,000 Americans before they lost money to scams and prevented an estimated $670 million in financial losses.
