KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Eyra Hazali has shared her shock after learning about a violent attack involving a student and a teacher at a private school in Kuching, Sarawak.
Writing on Threads, the 27-year-old mother of three said she had previously planned to send her children to that school.
"I was quite shocked to read the news about what happened at the school in Kuching because we were actually planning to send our children there."
The Mr Grey star, who is married to Kuching City FC goalkeeper Muhammad Haziq Nadzli, added: "I pray that the teacher recovers quickly and that the student receives the necessary help and support. I also hope everyone affected is doing well."
Despite the frightening incident, Eyra, whose full name is Hazirah Qasdina Hazali, made it clear that she does not blame the school management and praised them for acting so quickly.
"Yes, that's right. I don't blame the school at all, and they handled this matter exceptionally well. TPH is indeed our number one choice on the list," she wrote.
Police confirmed the arrest of a 16-year-old male student suspected of injuring a female teacher with an axe and bringing firecrackers to the school.
The teacher was treated at Sarawak General Hospital for arm and hand injuries, while the student was admitted to the hospital's psychiatric ward for evaluation.
It was reported that the police will hold a press conference on Tuesday (Oct 27) to disclose the motive behind the attack.
