The Philadelphia Eagles are running out of time to change the course of their season's direction. Four consecutive losses have dropped them to 2-4, and the news that Jalen Hurts will miss the remainder of the regular season has only deepened the concerns surrounding them. National analysts are losing confidence in Philadelphia, and several are questioning whether the team can remain competitive without its starting quarterback.
A down NFC East could offer a lifeline. All four teams lost in Week 6, leaving the division without a clear frontrunner. The Eagles have plenty of problems to solve, but their rivals haven't done much to separate themselves, either. If Philadelphia can stabilize its offense under Tanner McKee, the division race could offer a path back into playoff contention. Here's where four major outlets rank the Eagles entering Week 7.
USA TODAY
USA TODAY's Nate Davis ranks the Eagles 28, a one-spot drop from last week. They're the lowest-ranked NFC East team on his list this week.
"Their four-game losing streak aside, don't sleep on this team. Or maybe do, still not sure."
FOX Sports
The Eagles land ahead of the Dallas Cowboys (25) and Washington Commanders (27) on Ralph Vacchiano's list. Philadelphia tumbles seven spots from last week's ranking.
"The Eagles' season took a dark and scary turn on Monday morning when it was revealed that QB Jalen Hurts had multiple blood clots in his lungs, ending his 2026 season. And though I’ve been saying it for weeks, that has to be the signal that this is now a rebuilding team. Anything that’s not tied down to a long and expensive contract must go as the Eagles restock for a run in 2027. Don’t worry about the bad division or their soft schedule or all the injured players who might soon get healthy. They’ve lost four straight, and things aren’t going to turn around under backup QB Tanner McKee. GM Howie Roseman needs to keep his eyes on the prize, which is now the 2027 NFL Draft."
CBS Sports
The Eagles hold on to their 21st-place ranking, where they landed on the CBS Sports platform after Week 6. The Washington Commanders are the only team on CBS Sports' list that finished lower.
"Without Jalen Hurts, they are in big trouble. The injuries have crippled this team. The season has turned into a disaster."
ESPN
The Eagles are also 21st in ESPN's power rankings. They fall from last week's 16th-place ranking. Tim McManus labels Philadelphia's inability to sustain drives as their biggest issue.
"The Eagles have a three-and-out rate of 39.1%, far and away the worst in the NFL. That has a direct impact on the defense, which ranks third in snaps played with 406, including 74 on Sunday. It's no coincidence that Vic Fangio's group has been most vulnerable late in games. 'That's terrible. I think about that all time time, dude, we have to get our defense off the field. It's not good enough. ... [The defense] gave us every chance, and we just didn't execute and we didn't give [them] a breather.' And now Philly will have to navigate its third-down problems without QB Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season."
The rankings reflect more than a bad month. They show how quickly national confidence in Philadelphia has eroded. The gap between those still leaving room for a turnaround and those already looking toward 2027 puts the pressure squarely on the organization.
How the Eagles respond over the next few weeks will determine whether this remains a lost stretch or becomes a turning point for the franchise. There's still time, but Philadelphia can't think that way. Every action from here on out must carry urgency.
