Air Canada’s capacity on routes to the U.S. has declined by about 10 per cent over the past two years due to political tensions, particularly among leisure travellers, according to a person familiar with the matter.
United and Air Canada also plan to launch new non-stop routes for summer of next year, including service between Toronto and Louisville, Kentucky, Montreal and Indianapolis, and Canada’s Edmonton and Newark, New Jersey.
Chicago-based United will add seasonal service to St. John’s from its major hub in Newark, according to a Friday announcement.
