Ohio State is still looking to fill the remaining spots in its 2027 class, and there’s specific names the coaches have in mind.
Down the stretch the Buckeyes have a few positions of need, and the running back spot is the perfect example of that. Knowing their original plans didn’t go as expected, the efforts by Carlos Locklyn the rest of this cycle have been there, and soon he will see if it paid off.
Ohio native Jordan Hall the focus here, Ohio State and many others saw his stock rise with a fast start to his senior campaign, and quickly the Buckeyes offered the Cincinnati Princeton product hoping he would stay close to home. After multiple visits shortly after being offered, the coaching staff has to like where they sit ahead of his final decision, but Penn State is fighting hard in his recruitment as well.
Updating his recruitment once more, Hall’s decision has been pushed back a day, and will now be coming on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. The No. 852 player nationally and 60th best running back in the class per the 247Sports Composite, Hall will give his pledge to the school of his choice in just over 24 hours.
UPDATE, My commitment will be on saturday at 5 pm tune in!! 📲

Another 2027 target sets commitment plans
Sticking with the 2027 class and the running back position specifically, Ohio State is also being linked down the stretch to Florida native Tranard Roberts. Sharing the plans of a decision date coming soon, the Buckeyes are one of the four finalists he will choose from when he makes the call on Oct. 26.
A 5-foot-11, 195 pound athlete, Roberts is the No. 576 player nationally and the 38th best running back per the 247Sports Composite for the current cycle. Nearly 20 offers to his name from some of the better programs across the country, Roberts trimmed his list and is down to Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, and Ohio State, with the Tar Heels owning the lone Crystal Ball prediction ahead of his announcement.
Another player Ohio State has entertained in the last several weeks, Roberts and the aforementioned Hall aren’t the only two backs this staff likes. Current Wisconsin commit and newly offered Kingston Allen is a guy Locklyn is very much recruiting hard even if he’s committed elsewhere.
Seeing Allen leave campus just two weeks ago with an offer shows the coaches are looking at all of their options, and these commitment dates will further help tell the story of where this class ends up at running back.
The finish line in the near future, Ohio State should soon have their answers.

Quick Hits
Still a few more oppirtunities for home games this season, the Buckeyes will use those chances to host top recruits as they always do, and new names will be popping up as the games get closer. Plenty of guys they’ll prioritze once on campus, four-star offensive lineman Ty Winn fits that mold and then some.
A 6-foot-8, 270 pound offensive tackle in the 2028 class, Winn is the No. 169 player nationally and the 18th best at his position per the 247Sports Composite. Hearing from Ohio State regularly, he has a visit in the works for next month, and will continue to be a name that comes up as the 2028 cycle quickly becomes the current class.
Ohio State has its eye on a rising 2028 offensive lineman.
