(ANSA) - ROMA, 19 OTT - Italian design took center stage in a series of initiatives in Singapore. Among the main events, the Business and Diplomacy Panel—organized by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with ICE-Agenzia—explored internationalization opportunities for Italian companies. During the event, “OpportunItaly” was presented—the export acceleration program promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and coordinated by ICE, which facilitates contacts between Italian companies, buyers, and potential foreign partners through business-matching tools, including the Buyers Club.
On the institutional front, Marco Sabetta, director of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, met with Tamsim Greulich, head of community engagement and outreach at the DesignSingapore Council, to explore opportunities for collaboration with the local design ecosystem.
The relationship between design, fashion, and societal transformations was then the focus of Vogue Living Conversations, where architect Roberto Palomba spoke at the session “Abito—Designing Her World: Fashion, Design, and the Changing Shape of Women’s Lives.” The program, attended by Italian Ambassador Dante Brandi, included events featuring various Italian design firms, such as Poltrona Frau, Royal Interiors, and Kartell, as well as guided tours of the exhibition tailored to different audiences, ranging from Vogue guests to students at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
