The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has barred United Nations Special Rapporteurs and Columbia University from participating in the ongoing legal battle between the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and the Department of State Services (DSS).
The court has reserved judgment in the matter.
The case stems from a May 5, 2026 judgment by the FCT High Court that found SERAP and its Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, liable for defaming two DSS operatives; Sarah John and Gabriel Ogundele.
