Policy Implications
The GSS urged household consumers to prioritise essential expenditure and adjust spending plans in response to changes in prices.
It also advised them to reduce avoidable costsby adopting energy- and water-saving practices and make efficient use of household resources.
For businesses and investors, it urged them to manage rising input costs, improve operational efficiency, strengthen cost controls and review pricing carefully to protect profitability while retaining customers.
Additionally, they should maintain appropriate inventories of key inputs and diversify suppliers to reduce exposure to price increases and supply disruptions.
The PPI measures the average change over time in the prices received by domestic producers for their goods and services.
