The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, Muhammad Rabiu, has called for closer collaboration between the police and communities to tackle persistent abductions and prevent other criminal activities.
He made the appeal during a security patrol covering the Eastern Bypass, Rido Village, Maraban Rido, Unguwan Luka and Izam community in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
Rabiu expressed confidence that stronger collaboration between the police and residents would yield significant results in addressing insecurity across the state.
During the patrol, the commissioner met with traditional rulers and residents, who presented their complaints and security concerns to the police team.
He urged community leaders and residents to promptly report suspicious persons and movements, stressing that public support was essential to preventing attacks and sustaining peace and unity in the affected areas.
According to the commissioner, “I assure you that information provided to the police will be treated confidentially and acted upon professionally in order to achieve the desired results of maintaining cordial relationships amongst residents.”
He added that timely intelligence from residents would enable the police to respond swiftly to security threats, prevent criminal attacks and curb other criminal activities.
The patrol also took the police team to Unguwan Luka and Izam communities, where officers assessed security concerns as part of efforts to strengthen relations between the police and residents of Kaduna State.
