- Pheu Thai party says it does not want its Cabinet seats to be impacted with Kla Tham’s entry
Pheu Thai party, the coalition partner of the ruling Bhumjai Thai party, has come out to say that any entry of new coalition partner should not impact its 5 Ministerial seats.
Julapun Amornvivat, Labour Minister and Pheu Thai Party leader said that any formal discussion or decision regarding the coalition’s expansion ultimately rests with the Prime Minister.
Julapun also voiced confidence in the cabinet’s readiness for the upcoming no-confidence debate, noting that experienced ministers can clearly address the opposition’s allegations. He reaffirmed the party’s full support for the government during the vote, emphasizing that political etiquette dictates that coalition partners must stand united.
- Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed confidence in the government’s preparedness for the upcoming no-confidence debate, emphasizing teamwork and a solid coalition of nearly 300 supporting votes. He stressed that all 17 targeted ministers are thoroughly preparing their responses and data rather than taking their success for granted.

Addressing political rumors regarding convicted drug dealer – Thamanat Prompow’s Kla Tham Party potentially merging with the Bhumjaithai Party or joining the government, Anutin clarified that their longstanding personal friendship is separate from political affairs.
He dismissed speculations about a post-debate cabinet reshuffle or portfolio changes as premature, noting that everything depends on the debate’s outcome and actual voting results.
Finally, he declined to entertain hypothetical scenarios regarding expanding the coalition, emphasizing that the government remains fully focused on serving the public and the nation regardless of future political shifts.

- Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Transport Minister and a key leader of the Bhumjaithai , dismissed political motives behind meeting Buriram United Chairman Newin Chidchob, calling it a routine football match visit.
He also brushed off speculation about Prime Minister’s recent dinner with Captain Thamanat Prompow, emphasizing their long-standing personal relationship and noting that coalition expansion decisions rest solely with Anutin.
Addressing potential government changes, Phiphat stated that a cabinet reshuffle is currently unnecessary as the six-month-old “Anutin 2” administration is running smoothly. However, he reaffirmed that any future political shifts or inclusion of the Kla Tham Party ultimately depend on the Prime Minister and Bhumjaithai executives.

- Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul was recently spotted wearing a new 42mm Swatch “It’s Time” watch (model SUSM409) from the Essentials collection, made with a bio-ceramic case and blue silicone strap, priced at 4,950 Baht. He noted that he bought it at a Swatch store simply because it looked good, drawing attention to his accessible choice of accessories.

Previously, Bloomberg published an article titled “Thailand’s new political status symbol is a US$60 Casio watch.” It noted that while luxury watches are a common status symbol in Thai political circles, the latest trending item costs less than 60 dollars—approximately 2,000 Baht—and is gifted by the Prime Minister.
These Casio watches, engraved with the name of Anutin Charnvirakul, have increasingly appeared on the wrists of cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials, and political allies. The “Casio Royale” model—with its retro-futuristic digital design and signature world-map display—has become a mark of closeness to those in power, leading those who wear it to be dubbed the “Casio Connection”

- No Agreement on No-Confidence Debate timeline Yet
The government and opposition have yet to agree on the no-confidence debate schedule, with the government proposing three days of debate and the opposition demanding five, each followed by a separate voting day.
PM’s Office Minister Paradorn Prissanananthakul proposed debating on October 27–29 and voting on October 30, citing the prime minister’s packed schedule. He denied the government feared scrutiny and ruled out postponement until late November, saying that would be too late to address current issues.
Meanwhile Chief opposition whip Parit Wacharasindhu said the schedule must be agreed jointly at 3-way whips’ talks on October 21. He said five debate days were justified because 18 ministers faced scrutiny and accused the government of trying to dictate Parliament’s timetable.
The opposition would target alleged monopolization of power, corruption and failures to tackle economic, energy and flood problems. He insisted Senate selection collusion allegations could be debated because past conduct was relevant to Parliament’s confidence in the government.

- No Worries about Possible Reshuffle – Suphajee
Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun said she was unaware of rumors that she could be replaced and was not worried about a cabinet reshuffle.
Speaking at Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, she said she continued to work every day and that cabinet appointments were the prime minister’s decision. The upcoming no-confidence debate would give her an opportunity to explain her work, including efforts to address the high cost of living and rising goods prices. She said she was not daunted by facing the debate in her first ministerial role, adding that the opposition’s duty was to ask questions and hers was to answer.

- Bhumjaithai MP Suchada “Idea” Zhang Thansap and her husband, Taiyang Zhang, appeared at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on October 20 regarding an inquiry into Taiyang’s former investment in an offshore company linked to online casino Shuffle. Suchada clarified that only her husband was interviewed, denying allegations of misconduct and accusing critics of using outdated documents to fabricate a political controversy.

She reiterated that Taiyang sold his 1.47% stake in Mixed Order Limited in January 2026 before she took office as an MP, and both expressed full confidence and willingness to cooperate with law enforcement.

- Where is the Money?
Despite Suchada “Idea” Zhang Thansap saying that the shares were sold before she became an MP, there are questions being raised on where the money in the asset declaration is that she had made after she became the MP.
The sale of 1.47% could have generated about 200+ million Baht but none of that money was seen in the asset declaration that Suchada “Idea” Zhang Thansap made to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) after all MPs and Ministers have to declare once they assume and leave the position.
- Sirichok Sopha, former Democrat Party MP for Songkhla, provided evidence to Department of Special Investigation (DSI) investigators regarding online gambling operations with potential conflicts of interest involving public officials. He highlighted concerns over Suchada, who acknowledged her husband’s involvement in online gambling prior to and during her tenure as Secretary to the DES Minister, questioning why the Shuffle gambling platform was allowed to operate until October 8, 2026.
Presenting updated share registry documents from Curacao and BBI, Sirichok urged the DSI to take on the matter as a special transnational gambling case. He noted that financial traces revealed Thai users transferring nearly 118 million Baht via cryptocurrency over three years, asserting that resolving this case will test the government’s sincerity in confronting political influence.
Sirichok also responded to Suchada’s remark comparing him to a phone wallpaper, countering that unlocking such a phone instead reveals the online gambling website Shuffle.com. Addressing her claim of not knowing him, he clarified that she was previously known as “Nong Fai” and later “Nong Idea,” adding that he harbored no personal resentment over the comment.

- Former police officer and People’s Party party-list candidate Pol Lt Col Thirawat Panyatammakul criticized police leadership on October 20 for cutting the allowances of officers serving in Thailand’s 3 southern border provinces.
Thirawat, who resigned as an investigation’s inspector at Bangkok’s Sai Mai station to enter politics, argued that frontline officers in high-risk areas are being unfairly forced to absorb the financial burden of administrative and budgetary mismanagement.
In a series of Facebook posts, Thirawat emphasized that while the government establishes the overall budget framework, Royal Thai Police executives manage internal allocations under the direct oversight of the prime minister. He contended that leadership should eliminate non-essential administrative expenditures and unnecessary operational projects rather than reducing the critical compensation paid to officers putting their lives at risk.

- Cambodia and Thailand have agreed on six key confidence-building measures to foster trust and facilitate negotiations toward a permanent maritime boundary treaty. Outlined in a document finalized on October 17, 2026, in The Hague, the framework commits both nations to constructive participation in conciliation, positive public communications, the avoidance of dispute escalation, stronger bilateral engagement, the active use of bilateral hotlines, and transparent progress reporting.

To maintain stability, both countries pledged to preserve the status quo in disputed maritime areas, exercise restraint in public statements, and guard against misinformation. The agreement emphasizes utilizing existing communication channels—such as direct links between navy commanders—to handle maritime incidents and prevent misunderstandings, while encouraging senior diplomatic presence and technical working group discussions to monitor implementation over the coming months.

Economic News
- Tourism Minister Surasak wakes up to smell the Coffee
The government plans to officially seek clarification from the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok regarding its recent travel advisory that warns Chinese nationals about safety risks in Thailand. Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul acknowledged that the warning—prompted by concerns over job scams, fraudulent investments, and citizens going missing or being lured to the Thai Myanmar border—will likely impact Chinese tourist arrivals, despite visitor numbers having increased compared to last year.

The embassy’s advisory closely preceded the abrupt cancellation of an October 25th meet-and-greet event in Bangkok featuring popular Chinese actress and WeTV Global Ambassador Bai Lu. While organizers provided no specific reason for the cancellation, the advisory urged travelers to verify job and business offers, avoid high-risk border zones, protect personal documents, and immediately contact authorities if anyone goes missing or is unlawfully detained.
- Senior advisor Dhanin Chearavanont shared his vision at the Nation Forum 2027, urging Thailand to urgently revitalize its economy within the next 5 to 10 years by leveraging its strong foundational advantages. He outlined five critical agendas: overhauling the national water management system to boost agricultural productivity by fivefold, aggressively adopting AI and data centers, boldly borrowing to invest in the country’s future, reforming outdated regulations, and attracting global talent to drive national growth.

Highlighting AI as a “beacon of light for the new generation,” Dhanin emphasized the importance of continuous learning to seize future opportunities. He called on the government to take decisive action to unlock Thailand’s economic potential and position the country competitively on the global stage.
He urged the government to implement urgent economic reforms, emphasizing that artificial intelligence (AI) serves as a “beacon of light for the new generation” to seize future opportunities through continuous learning. He outlined critical strategies to unlock Thailand’s potential, including modernizing outdated laws, overhauling national water management to sustainably boost agricultural income, and attracting global talent and clean energy investments like data centers. Additionally, Dhanin advocated for bold financial investments in future industries and digitalizing the public sector by upgrading civil servant compensation. He stressed that bold, proactive policies are essential for Thailand to remain competitive in the global economy.
- Thailand’s Oil Fuel Fund Committee resolved on October 20 to raise retail prices for diesel B7, gasohol E10 95 and 91, and gasoline by 0.60 Baht per liter, effective October 21.
The upward adjustment is driven by surging global crude oil prices resulting from Middle East conflict pressures, including Houthi attacks on energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and shipping vessels in the Persian Gulf, alongside lower-than-expected US crude inventories and rising freight costs due to vessels rerouting around Africa.

With global Singapore market prices spiking significantly and the Oil Fuel Fund absorbing a heavy subsidy burden of roughly 229 million Baht per day, the committee adjusted its collection and compensation mechanisms to maintain financial liquidity and domestic price stability.

Under the new structure, diesel B7 retail prices will increase to 43.54 Baht per liter, gasoline to 51.03 Baht per liter, gasohol 95 to 42.04 Baht per liter, and gasohol 91 to 41.67 Baht per liter, while public cooperation has been urged to conserve fuel and help strengthen the fund’s long-term stability.

Prior to the announcement of the price hike, the Ministry of Energy posted on its Facebook page, confirming that as of October 20, fuel prices in Thailand remained stable when compared to those in other ASEAN countries—with B20 fuel ranking second and E20 ranking third in the region.

- The Swine Raisers Association of Thailand clarified that its recent decision on October 19 to raise the suggested farm-gate price of live hogs by 4.38 Baht (or 4 Baht) per kilogram aims to help farmers cover production costs amid weak domestic purchasing power.
Association President Sitthiphan Thanakiatpinyo explained that the recommended adjustment does not mean actual market prices will rise uniformly by that amount, as transaction prices depend on purchasing volume, location, and transport costs—with large-scale batches often subject to price deductions by buyers.
Production costs currently range between 68 and 72 Baht per kilogram, while farmers often receive actual prices below production costs due to heavy market competition and rising feed expenses, including increases in animal feed corn and imported soybean meal.
The association urged the government to closely monitor and control animal feed raw material prices to support struggling small-scale farmers as they navigate ongoing market pressures.

- Between January and September 2026, Thailand’s rice exports faced a significant downturn, dropping 19.26% to 4.99 million tons worth $2.962 billion. This decline was driven by intense competition from India and Pakistan, as well as a sharp drop in shipments to Iraq due to Middle Eastern tensions—though increased demand from the Philippines and Malaysia driven by El Niño helped offset some of the losses.

To combat these challenges, the Ministry of Commerce is collaborating with the Thai Rice Exporters Association to tackle port labor shortages and execute proactive marketing plans targeting the Philippines, Japan, and South Africa. Meanwhile, exporters have urged the government to address high domestic production costs and low crop yields to make Thai rice more competitively priced globally.
Chookiat Ophaswongse, Honorary President of the Thai Rice Exporters Association, stated that a key issue currently facing Thai rice is its price, which is higher than that of other rice-producing nations. This is a consequence of high cultivation costs for farmers combined with yields per rai that are significantly lower than those of other countries. He urged the government to provide support starting from the upstream stage—specifically by introducing new rice varieties and promoting improved cultivation methods—which would help achieve a more reasonable price point and enhance competitiveness in the global market.

- The Trade Competition Commission (TCC) approved a draft announcement on October 19 to regulate service fee structures in the digital platform ecosystem for ride-hailing, food delivery, and on-demand logistics services, with enforcement targeted for December 18, 2026.
TCC is expanding its regulatory oversight beyond ride-hailing and food delivery platforms—such as Grab, Lineman, and Bolt—to include major e-commerce platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok under Section 60 of the Trade Competition Act of 2017. This move comes in response to alarming findings that e-commerce operators have drastically increased gross profit (GP) fees without transparent justification, with Shopee raising fees 10 times for a cumulative increase of 433% since 2022, and Lazada increasing them 7 times by 367%, while TikTok’s fee structures remain under active investigation.
Under the upcoming framework, dominant platforms will be legally required to provide clear rationale and cost-based breakdowns for any fee modifications, protecting merchants and vendors from unverified, frequent spikes. By reining in heavy-handed fee hikes across both delivery and online retail ecosystems, the TCC aims to foster fair competition, safeguard small businesses from excessive financial burdens, and ensure greater market transparency.

- The Cabinet has approved a new 50-billion-Baht home loan scheme proposed by the Government Housing Bank (GHB) to assist low- and middle-income earners in purchasing homes while stimulating the national economy through the property sector. Titled “A House for Each PLUS” (Khon La Lang PLUS) and following two previous fully subscribed initiatives, the program offers eligible applicant’s loans of up to 3 million Baht each with repayment terms of up to 40 years.
The scheme covers the purchase of houses with land, condominiums, plots for self-building, and financing for fixtures and fittings, featuring special initial interest rates before transitioning to the minimum retail rate (MRR). Applications remain open nationwide until December 30, 2030, or until funds are exhausted, with the Finance Ministry projecting the initiative to generate around 125 billion Baht in economic activity and support property-related employment.
- Meanwhile a group of Chinese students filed a police complaint at the Crime Suppression Division in Bangkok on Tuesday against a condominium agent, alleging they were defrauded of approximately 10 million Baht in total. Accompanied by lawyer Preechaya Boonprakong, the victims reported dealing with an agent since 2024 who targeted international students—primarily looking for properties around the Ratchadaphisek area—by offering rental or purchasing arrangements that were never properly fulfilled or left unpaid.
The complainants described various schemes, including one student who paid advance rent only to be moved multiple times before being evicted because the agent failed to pass the payments onto the property owners, while another lost a purchase deposit after the agent suddenly cut off all communication. According to the legal representative, approximately 70 Chinese students have fallen victim to this ongoing accommodation scam.

- The Thai stock market closed down on the previous trading day at 1,554.94 points, dropping by 16.78 points (1.07%) with a total trading value of 60.719 billion Baht. The index was weighed down by heavy selling in large-cap stocks, particularly in the technology sector tracking global markets and banking stocks driven by asset quality concerns. Notably, TTB faced strong selling pressure following its third-quarter 2026 earnings report over worries about rising non-performing loans (NPLs), which also impacted sentiment across other banks currently releasing their quarterly results.

Additionally, ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East pushed crude oil prices higher, adding pressure to energy costs and the broader economic outlook. These factors prompted investors to reduce risk exposure, leading to continued foreign capital outflows that weighed on the short-term index. For today’s outlook, the SET index is expected to trade sideways, with support levels estimated at 1,540–1,550 points and resistance at 1,570 points.

- Yesterday shares of TMBThanachart Bank (TTB) fell by 0.18 Baht to close at 2.72 Baht (-6.21%) with a total trading value of 3,274 million Baht following the announcement of its Q3/2026 financial results.
Analysts from Maybank Securities (Thailand) maintained a slightly negative outlook after a senior executive meeting, noting that market sentiment remains weighed down by the bank’s latest quarterly earnings performance. A major key monitoring point highlighted by analysts is the potential reduction in shareholding by major shareholders, likely referring to ING Group. Such a stake sale could flood the market with excess shares and exert downward pressure on TTB’s stock price, even if the bank considers utilizing its excess capital to launch a share buyback program.
Meanwhile Piti Tantakasem Chief Executive Officer of TTB revealed that TTB has recorded a net profit for the third quarter of 2026 at 5,457 million Baht, up 3% year-over-year, bringing its 9-month net profit to 16,139 million Baht (+4.8% YoY). Total operating income reached 16,786 million Baht (+2.9%), boosted by a 12-bps expansion in Net Interest Margin (NIM) to 3.09% through optimized deposit costs, as well as a 12.4% recovery in net fee income.

- Krungthai Card PCL(KTC) reported a strong financial performance for the third quarter of 2026, posting an 8.9% year-over-year increase in net profit to 2,125 million Baht, compared to 1,951 million Baht in 3Q25. The profit growth was primarily driven by disciplined operating cost controls and a sharp 16.4% reduction in finance costs to 354 million Baht, achieved through lower funding rates and optimized borrowing management. Total revenue edged up slightly by 0.2% to 6,917 million Baht, supported by moderate gains in credit card and personal loan interest income, while total expenses contracted by 2.0%.
Asset quality remained firmly under control amid cautious consumer spending and high household debt, which kept total loan portfolio expansion modest at 0.8% year-over-year to 107,717 million Baht. KTC’s non-performing loan (NPL) ratio rose slightly to 1.92%, remaining safely below the company’s full-year target of 2.0%, while the NPL coverage ratio remained exceptionally high at 413.4% with credit costs holding steady at 5.4%.

- Today Quick Transformation PCL, a digital transformation solutions provider offering enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation and system integration, is scheduled to trade on the Market for Alternative Investment (mai) under the ticker symbol “QUICK”. The company provides end-to-end services integrating IoT and AI technologies across various industries and serves as a specialist partner for major global software developers including Microsoft, Rockwell, Advantech, and PTC.
QUICK offered 32 million newly issued shares at an IPO price of 5.65 Baht per share, raising a total of 180.80 million Baht with a market capitalization of 576.30 million Baht. The company maintains a dividend payout policy of at least 30% of net profit from separate financial statements after taxes and reserves. While brokerage firms estimate a fair value of 6.50–8.70 Baht.

- Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) has officially launched its flagship CP Innovation Exposition 2026 at True Digital Park in Bangkok. Running from October 20 to 22 under the theme “RISE TOGETHER INNOVATE BEYOND,” the three-day event brings together corporate leaders, global tech giants, and thousands of internal innovators to showcase over 90 practical technological solutions across artificial intelligence, biotechnology, retail, and logistics from more than ten countries.

Top executives, including Sigve Brekke, Dr. Ajva Taulananda, and Suphachai Chearavanont, delivered keynotes framing the exposition as an operational blueprint for driving corporate resilience and national competitiveness. Dr. Ajva highlighted the conglomerate’s 105-year history of innovation rooted in its Three-Benefit Principle, while Suphachai emphasized that enterprise survival amid unprecedented global challenges—such as geopolitical friction, climate volatility, and AI disruption—requires deep external partnerships and continuous adaptation.
Suphachai also praised the thousands of employee innovators participating in the event and highlighted the role of the CP Innovation and The Center of Excellence sandbox laboratory. This facility allows teams and global partners to experiment, fail small, and rapidly iterate solutions designed to create tangible value for customers, society, and the broader global community.

- Thai Airways expects to appoint a new CEO in December after interviewing six of the nine applicants who applied during the September recruitment window. The candidates include suspended CEO Chai Eamsiri, internal executives such as COO Chawan Rattanawaraha, CTO Cherdphan Chotikhun, and Aviation Business Chief Varangkana Luerojvong, alongside former commercial executives.
Juthavachara Vivacharawongse, King Vajiralongkorn’s eldest son, also publicly announced his application in September, though it remains unconfirmed if he was among those interviewed. The selected leader will succeed Chai Eamsiri, whose tenure was scheduled to end in January 2027.
- The Cabinet approved up to 10.41 billion Baht in domestic loans for the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) to support 11 long-term projects worth 13.88 billion Baht, with the remaining 3.47 billion Baht covered by PEA revenue. Key initiatives include a 2.5-billion-Baht project to move overhead power lines underground across 74 provinces to improve grid reliability and streetscapes.
Additional major allocations include 6.15 billion Baht for operational support and 1.81 billion Baht for substation asset upgrades. The remaining funds will cover transformer modernizations, communications networks, cybersecurity, and enterprise software maintenance.

Floods in Thailand
- Ministry of Finance has announced comprehensive financial and tax relief measures for households and businesses affected by the 2026 floods, including debt moratoriums, state bank repayment extensions, and low-interest recovery loans. Housing repair loans of up to 2 million Baht will feature starting interest rates of 0–1.99%, while emergency loans of up to 50,000 Baht are interest-free for the first three months. Additionally, businesses can access recovery loans of up to 5 million Baht, alongside a 30-billion-Baht Government Savings Bank soft loan program offering SMEs up to 30 million Baht each at capped interest rates.
Taxpayers can claim deductions of up to 100,000 Baht for home repairs and 30,000 Baht for vehicle repairs, with filing deadlines extended to late 2026 and duty exemptions on qualifying machinery imports until March 2027. Furthermore, a nationwide disaster insurance program running through October 2027 will cover approximately 30 million households against floods, storms, and earthquakes, offering residential property coverage capped at 100,000 Baht per household and personal accident benefits up to 2 million Baht.

- Meanwhile the Cabinet approved an additional 10.51 billion Baht to help 1.48 million flood-hit households whose claims are being verified. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation will distribute the funds through the Government Savings Bank.
Government spokesperson Ekkaphop Phianphiset said the additional funding would cover pending claims and keep payments running. The government has reduced the two agencies’ combined verification time to no more than two days. Local authorities remain responsible for checking eligibility and assessing damage before forwarding approved claims for payment.

- The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported continuing flooding in 19 provinces and Bangkok on October 20, 2026, although water levels were stabilising or receding. Authorities were accelerating drainage and recovery operations while preparing for another period of heavy rain through October 25.
The DDPM’s Disaster Relief Operations Centre recorded 450,944 affected households, comprising 1,367,191 people, in its October 20 update based on information at 6am. The detailed provincial breakdown covered 78 districts, 595 subdistricts and 4,081 villages, with Bangkok listed separately.
- Siam Amazing Park (Siam Park City) is pushing forward with recovery efforts following severe flood damage, aiming for a partial reopening by December to restore employee jobs and welcome visitors.
Wutthichai Luangamornlert, CEO of Siam Park City Group, stated that while certain zones like the scout camp, community mall, and Bangkok World office areas can be repaired quickly, electronic and heavy mechanical rides require thorough safety inspections by internal technicians and international manufacturers. Despite drawing interest from more than 10 Thai and foreign investors proposing joint ventures or outright acquisitions following earlier announcement of a potential sale, management’s primary focus remains on rehabilitation. He expressed a strong personal desire to continue operations, noting that final decisions will depend on economic viability, ongoing market recovery, and financial institutional support as the park assesses hundreds of millions of Baht in restoration investments.

General News
- The Region IV Court of Appeal in Khon Kaen sentenced former Olympic boxer Somluck Kamsing to an unsuspended prison term of one year and 12 months for taking a minor aged between 15 and 18 away from her guardians for indecent purposes. The appellate court acquitted him of a more serious charge of attempted rape involving the use of force and ordered him to pay 80,000 Baht in compensation. Following the ruling, Somluck’s lawyer successfully applied for provisional release, and the court granted bail set at 300,000 Baht pending further legal proceedings.

The case stems from an incident in December 2023 when a 17-year-old girl filed a police complaint following a visit to an entertainment venue in Khon Kaen. Prosecutors subsequently brought multiple charges against Somluck and a second defendant, Pichet Chinehanta, who was acquitted by both the lower and appeal courts. While the lower court had previously handed down a heavier sentence in January 2025 before reductions, the appeal court revised the judgment to uphold only the conviction for taking a minor away for indecent purposes.

- A minor magnitude 2.0 earthquake struck Si Nakhon district in Sukhothai province at a shallow depth of four kilometers at 5:46 AM on Tuesday (October 20, 2026). No casualties or damages were reported, as tremors of this scale are generally undetected by humans and picked up only by monitoring equipment.
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) noted that several other low-to-moderate quakes were also recorded regionally over the past 24 hours, including tremors in Vietnam and Myanmar. The public can track real-time seismic updates via the official TMD website and mobile application.
