Casio’s latest G-Shock Frogman and Mudmaster watches have finally landed in Europe, after launching in Japan and the US. The Frogman starts at €799, while the Mudmaster will set you back a staggering €1,300.
After making their debut in Japan in early September and eventually making their way to the US, Casio’s latest military-inspired G-Shock Mudmaster and Frogman watches have finally arrived in Europe.
The new Frogman GWF-D1000BC-1 and Mudmaster GWG-B1000-1A3 are now officially listed on Casio’s website in several European countries, including Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, and Portugal. Neither is cheap: the Mudmaster GWG-B1000-1A3 costs €799, while the Frogman GWF-D1000BC-1 will set you back €1,300.
Frogman gets a new composite metal-and-resin band
For the uninitiated, the Frogman GWF-D1000BC-1 is a tactical-looking refresh of Casio’s flagship diving watch. The latest model pairs an all-black exterior with tan accents and a chunky composite metal-and-resin bracelet. The composite bracelet is the biggest change from the older model, featuring H-shaped metal links, resin inserts, and an extension mechanism that lets you wear the watch over a wetsuit.
But this is still very much a Frogman. The GWF-D1000BC-1 features ISO-rated 200-meter water resistance, a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, and a Triple Sensor system that measures direction, temperature, and water depth. Its depth gauge can measure down to 80 meters in 0.1-meter increments, while Tough Solar charging and Multi-Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping help keep it running without much fuss. Unlike the Mudmaster, however, it doesn't offer Bluetooth connectivity.
G-Shock Mudmaster
The Mudmaster GWG-B1000-1A3 takes a similarly military-inspired approach, pairing a black case with tan dial accents and an olive green matte urethane band. Built to withstand mud, dust, shocks, and vibrations, it features a carbon fiber-reinforced resin structure, stainless steel guards, and a screw-lock crown.
Its Triple Sensor setup covers compass readings, altitude, barometric pressure, and temperature, while Bluetooth connectivity lets it sync with Casio’s Watches app. Multiband 6 radio control and Tough Solar charging round out the package, alongside 200-meter water resistance, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a dual-LED Super Illuminator.
